I downloaded an interesting browser plugin for Chrome, called Rapportive, that automatically adds a sidebar within Gmail messages. This sidebar displays information about the person who’s sending you emails including Facebook updates, LinkedIn info, tweets, etc. The plugin automatically cross-checks for publicly available social network presences, pictures and more on the Web, all of which get displayed while you’re reading or crafting an email.
This tool is a great addition to my email experience. I also like the fact that I can leave notes within a person’s profile that can come in handy in later email conversations.
